Thanks for your interest in our Pathologists' Assistant (PathA) Program!

We are pleased to announce Carroll University is the FIRST PathA program in the state of Wisconsin. Currently, only 12 PathA Programs exist in the US, 3 of which are in the Midwest.

    What is a PathA?
Pathologists’ Assistants are highly trained allied health professionals who provide various services under the direction and supervision of a pathologist.

Pathologists’ Assistants are academically and practically trained to:
    • Provide accurate and timely processing of a variety of laboratory specimens
    • Be responsible for the gross examination and dissection of anatomic pathology specimens and the performance of postmortem examinations.
    • Fill administrative, instructional, and supervisory roles
*Graduates may work in all settings, including community hospitals, universities, private groups, laboratories, and medical examiner offices.

PathAs are a crucial extension of the pathologist in the healthcare setting, working as a liaison to other departments and laboratories to ensure quality healthcare.

We look forward to meeting you!
