Thanks for your interest in our Pathologists' Assistant (Path A) Program!

We are pleased to announce Carroll University is the FIRST Path A program in the state of Wisconsin. Currently, only 20 Path A Programs exist in the US, 4 of which are in the Midwest.

    What is a Path A?
Pathologists’ Assistants are highly trained allied health professionals who provide various services under the direction and supervision of a pathologist.

Pathologists’ Assistants are academically and practically trained to:
    • Provide accurate and timely processing of a variety of laboratory specimens
    • Be responsible for the gross examination and dissection of anatomic pathology specimens and the performance of postmortem examinations.
    • Fill administrative, instructional, and supervisory roles
*Graduates may work in all settings, including community hospitals, universities, private groups, laboratories, and medical examiner offices.

Pathologists' Assistants are a crucial extension of the pathologist in the healthcare setting, working as a liaison to other departments and laboratories to ensure quality healthcare.
